If you are designing a building from scratch or adding to your existing building there may be reports required for the engineering of your building and any council applications. The reports required will vary depending upon where your property is located and the municipal services available. The reports mentioned below are commonly required.
Should you need it, CDL has established professional relationships with service providers that will supply you with the required report/s.​
Site Classification (Soil Test)
This report tests the soil type and soil stability of your property and relates to the following areas of design and construction:

Engineering (Structural) design

Slope Stability testing

Site and Soil Report for an OSSF

Building Approval (BA)

You will need to have an architectural site plan in place for this report.
Site and Soil Report: Effluent Disposal Design/Report)
If your property is located in an area that does not have council sewerage services and you are building a new home or adding a bedroom to an existing residence, an On Site Sewerage Facility (OSSF) will need to be installed or the existing OSSF will need to be assessed and upgraded to service the number of people living in the building/s.
Note: An OSSF may also be referred to as a Home Sewerage Treatment Plant (HSTP) or simply a Treatment Plant.

Once you have a Site Classification Report, the next step is to source a Hydraulic Engineer to design or upgrade the OSSF. The Engineer will require a Site Plan and Floor Plan of the current and/or proposed structures.
Slope Stability Report
A Slope Stability Report may be required if your current or proposed building triggers a council slope stability overlay. A Geotechnical Engineer will be required to establish the building specifications relating to the slope gradient.

The Engineer will require a Site Classification Report and Site Plan of the current and/or proposed structures.
